We have these kind of leftists in the U.K. as well – nutter purists who get a lot of likes from other hipster socialists if they take a very pure ideological position that is really a rejection of the messy dirty business of actually ruling (ruling? Ugh, they are power intolerant). Their purity is great for their media career personally (all those likes) but catastrophic for their society. It increases polarisation, allows populist authoritarians to rule, and encourages the infantilisation of political debate. Please reject this, Americans, we need you back.
