This is a very basic and kinda boring argument. Eclecticism has been practiced for thousands of years by many different cultures - in the East, in the Middle East, in Christianity, in the West. To reduce this to 'neocolonial whiteness' is very provincial. Perennialism goes back to antiquity, to the House of Wisdom of the 12th century Baghdad, to the Platonic Academy of Ficino.
