I may stand corrected on the first point. Was there ever an evangelical effort to spread Hinduism, though, before the likes of Vivekananda?


I think we agree that there is a tradition of self criticism within Hinduism, that this book didn’t really practice


Regarding the contrast between this piece and my interview with the then bishop of London, it’s not surprising if the tone of an interview is different to a book review. If you mean that I go easy on Christianity compared to Hinduism…I can send you some of my writing on my time as a Christian.

Yes I think iskcon is a Hindu organisation

The main point of this article is you can’t really talk about the history of iskcon or prabhupada without mentioning his views on race, gender and sexuality and how they clashed with the culture in which he was working; and that one should also mention what happened at the schools he founded and what happened to iskcon after he died. Those are fair points aren’t they?
